History

The Department of Gastronomy and Culinary Arts at Ege University Çeşme Faculty of Tourism was established in accordance with Article 7/d-2 of Law No. 2547, as amended by Law No. 2880, during the Council of Higher Education meeting dated March 17, 2021. The department is planned to admit students in the 2025-2026 academic year.

Employment Opportunities for Graduates

Graduates of the department will be employed in middle and upper-level management positions within the food and beverage departments of various establishments such as hotels, motels, holiday villages, and social facilities, especially in holiday resorts, as well as in the restaurants of independent food and beverage enterprises. In addition to being able to work as flying chefs for airline companies, they can also pursue careers in producing gastronomy-themed content for television and social media, which has become quite common in recent years. Within the Shipley-Altındağ Gastronomy Academy of Ege University Çeşme Faculty of Tourism located at the faculty, there is a "Studio Kitchen" designed to convey the relationship between gastronomy and media.

Graduation Requirements

Students must be successful in all courses, comply with attendance requirements, and complete the practical components of applied courses as well as the compulsory internship.
